ICM STELLAR SUPPORTING CYRILLE REGIS GOLF DAY

ICM Stellar Sports is once again supporting the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust’s annual fundraising golf day.

The event takes place at the famous Brabazon course at the Belfry on September 6, 2021, and sees teams of three joined by a celebrity for a memorable day of golf and socialising.

TV soccer commentator Clive Tyldesley will be the host for the day, which also features an auction of top sporting memorabilia and other prizes as well as a complimentary barbecue.

There are still a couple of places for teams (entry costs £1,200 for three people) and funds raised will support the Trust’s “Strike a Change” mentoring programme.

The programme, which has been developed with the six leading West Midlands Football Club foundations, helps young people in the region who are passionate about football but need inspiration and support. Some 70 young people have already benefitted from the training.

The great Cyrille Regis, putting the ball away for Coventry City

Cyrille’s widow, Julia Regis, said: “It has been amazing to see the effect the programme has on young people, to see the improvement in their self-confidence, the way it is helping them shape a new narrative of the world and what their lives can be.

“I see Cyrille’s DNA living on in these sessions, I see these young people going back to their schools and neighbourhoods and becoming mentors themselves, it is opening up new worlds.”

Cyrille, who was awarded an MBE in 2008 for services to soccer and the voluntary sector, is a giant in the history of football. His achievements on the pitch with teams such as England, West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City and Aston Villa, are legendary as is the dignity with which he carried himself.

After retiring from football, Cyrille became an agent with ICM Stellar, guiding the careers of many young footballers while at the same time continuing charity and mentoring work in the communities he loved.

At ICM Stellar Sports we still feel the shock of his loss in January 2018, aged just 59.

The Cyrille Regis Trust Golfing Day takes place on September 6, 2021.

It costs £1,200 to enter a team of three players, each of which will be joined by a celebrity. Price includes a barbecue dinner with all the celebrities taking part as well as the raffle/auction.
