ICM STELLAR LEADS MLS SUPERDRAFT
ICM Stellar Sports are once again celebrating on the back of a successful MLS SuperDraft.
Fourteen clients heard their names called across three rounds, with nine chosen in the first round of American soccer’s annual pick of the best college players.
Matt Nocita, a 6ft 8 centre back from the US Naval Academy, lead the list of selections after being chosen by the New York Red Bulls.
He was followed by highly sought-after USA youth international goalkeeper and Adidas Generation member Patrick Schulte from the University of Saint Louis, who was selected by the Columbus Crew.
ICM Stellar Sports USA President Patrick McCabe said: “Our team is very proud of the work we have done for our clients, we worked hard in the days and weeks leading up and were able to create a lot of interest in our draftees so much so that we had teams making trades in order to secure our clients.”
Despite growing investment in youth academies and increased spending on international talent, the SuperDraft continuously proves to be a source of value for teams across the MLS.
Patrick added: “ICM Stellar Sports has played a key role over the years in helping teams identify talent at the college level that have progressed to become prominent figures in their respective teams and across the league. We’ve had past draftees gone on to represent the USA and Canada National Teams, be awarded accolades such as ‘Rookie of the Year’, we’ve even had a NCAA D3 player secure an MLS contract, it’s a testament to the diligent scouting our team does throughout the year.”
